Welcome Dr. Gregory Long to the ECA Team!

Eyecare Associates (ECA) is proud to welcome Tulane-trained ophthalmologist Dr. Gregory Long to our team of specialists. Dr. Long specializes in general eye care treatment, cataract surgery, LASIK surgery, anterior segment disease, glaucoma, dry eye, cornea and crosslinking. He brings a wealth of knowledge, training and clinical expertise in advanced vision technologies.
Dr. Long earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine and completed both his ophthalmology residency and internal medicine internship at Tulane University School of Medicine, where he also served as Chief Resident. Throughout his medical career, Dr. Long has received multiple honors including the Tulane Department of Ophthalmology Harry B. Caplan Chief Resident Award, the Texas Heart Institute Journal Editor’s Choice Award for outstanding research and Tulane University’s Annual Award for Outstanding Research in Ophthalmology. His academic research spans a diverse range of topics, including surgical outcomes in cataract procedures and cardiovascular assist devices. He has contributed to peer-reviewed journals including the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology and the Texas Heart Institute Journaland has presented his research at various national meetings and conferences.
In addition to his academic and clinical excellence, Dr. Long is committed to educating the next generation of medical students. He has taught and mentored at Tulane and Baylor, helping guide students through clinical skills training and specialty exploration.
He will see patients at ECA’s Metairie and Uptown locations.
