Ronald A. Landry, MD
Ronald A. Landry, MD, founder and medical director of Eyecare Associates, is an LSU Medical School graduate. He completed his ophthalmology residency at LSU and Charity Hospital in New Orleans, he is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. With over 30 years experience in medical and surgical eye care, he is recognized as an expert in laser vision correction, cataract surgery, laser surgery, and intraocular lenses.
Dr. Landry’s unique approach to eye care involves close personal contact with patients at every phase of their eye care process. From the initial consultation through surgery and post operative care, he believes in keeping patients informed about their treatment and progress. He is a leader among those advancing the study and practice of eye medicine and surgery.
Donald P. Cerise, MD
Donald P. Cerise, MD is a native of New Orleans, a graduate of Tulane Medical School, he completed residency training at Tulane and a year of specialty training in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids and tear ducts at Albany Medical College in New York. He currently holds the position of Clinical Instructor in the Tulane Department of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Cerise has practiced in the New Orleans area since 1983. He is an accomplished laser vision correction, cataract, laser and intraocular lens surgeon, as well as an expert in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eye. Dr. Cerise is committed to providing complete and personal eye care for each of his patients throughout every phase of treatment. His exceptional knowledge of a wide range of ophthalmological problems and his skills as a surgeon place him in the top of eye care specialists in the area.
William A. Perez, MD
William A. Perez, M.D., has been providing quality eye care to thousands of families in the metropolitan area of New Orleans for over twenty-five years.
Dr. Perez, who is bilingual, began to pursue the “American dream” at the early age of 12 when his family fled the communist regime of Fidel Castro in Cuba.
He is a graduate of LSU Medical School and completed his residency at Alton Ochsner Foundation Hospital.
During his two and one half decades in private practice as a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, Dr. Perez has performed thousands of ocular surgical procedures. He is considered a leader in the field of laser vision correction, cataract and intraocular lens surgery. His skill as a Doctor of Medicine is as well known as his commitment and dedication is to his patients.
His expertise as a diagnostician and surgeon combined with his concern for his patients’ well being, make him highly respected and admired, not only by the individuals that he serves, but also by his fellow colleagues. Dr. Perez is greatly involved in the international community by providing charitable eye care and surgery to those less fortunate in underdeveloped nations.
He is one of the founders of the Eye Laser Institute, where he performs outpatient Laser Vision Correction Surgery.
Leni T. Sumich, II, MD
Leni T. Sumich, II, M.D. is a lifelong resident of New Orleans and a graduate of Tulane University. After attending Louisiana State School of Medicine in New Orleans, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the LSU Eye Center/Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation, where he held the position of Chief Resident.
Dr. Sumich, who is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, specializes in cataract and refractive surgery. His addition to our practice represents a continuation of our organization’s commitment in providing outstanding service, convenience and affordability to our patients.
Nicholas E Frisard, MD
Dr. Frisard completed both his undergraduate and graduate work at LSU, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. He graduated from LSU School of Medicine in 2013. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship at Oschsner Clinic Foundation and his Ophthalmology Residency at LSU.
Dr. Frisard was awarded multiple honors and appointments both during and following his undergraduate and graduate education including being selected as the 2016 Chief Resident of LSU Ophthalmology. He and his wife are very involved in the New Orleans community. Dr. Frisard’s primary focus is the medical treatment of eye disease and cataract and refractive surgery.
Chuck Stumpf, OD
Chuck Stumpf, OD is a native of New Orleans and a 1982 graduate of Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee with post graduate training in pharmacology.He has been associated with Eyecare Associates since 1983. Dr. Stumpf is an adjunct professor with Southern College of Optometry and the University of Alabama at Birmingham College of Optometry.
Dr. Stumpf provides comprehensive eye care for the whole family including glasses and contact lenses. He also provides medical treatment of eye diseases and injuries. He is regarded as an expert in fitting difficult contact lens patients.
Terrell McGinn, OD
Terrell McGinn, OD joined Eyecare Associates in 1991. After graduating from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, he conducted research at LSU Medical Center and the Veterans Administration. Dr. McGinn’s expertise lies in the correction of refractive errors primarily through contact lenses and glasses. He specializes in hard to fit contact lenses and in the medical treatment of eye disease. Dr. McGinn is also a low vision rehabilitation specialist working with those patients who suffer from irreversible vision loss.
Kevin Kasovich, OD
Dr. Kasovich graduated from LSU with a Bachelor of Science in zoology in 2000, and from Southern College of Optometry, Memphis, Tennessee, magna cum laude in 2004. He completed a residency in ocular disease at Omni Eye Specialists in Baltimore, Maryland. He is licensed by the State of Louisiana to practice Therapeutic Optometry and Authorized Ophthalmic Surgery and is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease.
Stanislav A. Zhuk, MD
Dr. Stanislav Zhuk earned his Bachelor of Science degree with Highest Honors in Molecular Biology from the University of Texas, Austin, and his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He continued his training with an Internship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas in the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Zhuk then went on to a Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in the Department of Ophthalmology and completed his Fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Surgery at The Foundation for Retinal Research in New Orleans.
Dr. Zhuk is an active researcher and holds an academic appointment at Louisiana State University School of Medicine as Assistant Clinical Professor.
Gwen M. Cousins MD
Dr. Gwen Cousins earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and her medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport. She went on to an Internship in Medicine at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans and a Residency in Ophthalmology at Louisiana State University Health and Science Center in New Orleans. Dr. Cousins then continued her training with a Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at The Foundation for Retinal Research in New Orleans.
The recipient of numerous academic honors, Dr. Cousins was awarded the prestigious Slaughter Academic Scholarship at Louisiana State University Medical Center. Dr. Cousins has been a vitreoretinal physician and surgeon practicing in New Orleans since 2007. Dr. Cousins is an active researcher, participating in numerous ongoing clinical investigations on diseases of the retina, macula and vitreous. She also heavily involved in training vitreoretinal specialists.
Kathy H. Ta, MD

Dr. Kathy Ta earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology Magna Cum Laude from Tulane University in New Orleans and her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport. She completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans and her Residency in Ophthalmology at Louisiana State University Health and Science Center and Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. Dr. Ta furthered her training with Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at The Foundation for Retinal Research in New Orleans.
Dr. Ta served as Chief Resident and received Excellence in Ophthalmology Award, The Philip H. Jones Scholarship for Academic Excellence, Medical Student Research Grant Program and Distinguished Scholars Award. Dr. Ta is a member of The American Academy of Ophthalmology and The American Society of Retina Specialists.
Ze Zhang, MD
Glaucoma Specialist
Dr. Ze Zhang graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in Biological Sciences and Business Administration in 2008. She received her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine in 2013. Dr. Zhang completed her internship at Tulane University School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine and her residency in the Ophthalmology Department in 2017. She completed a Fellowship in Glaucoma at the University of Iowa School of Medicine in 2018.
Dr. Zhang has been published in multiple journals, including the British Journal of Ophthalmology, has collaborated in research related to glaucoma at both the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and the Tulane Department of Ophthalmology and has received multiple honors. She is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Zhang is fluent in English, Mandarin, Norwegian, Danish and Swedish
