Nicole Songy, OD

Nicole Songy, O.D., is an optometrist at EyeCare Associates, where she provides comprehensive primary eye care with a focus on ocular disease management and specialty contact lenses. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry, where she was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometry Honor Society. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University.

Her clinical training included a broad range of experiences in both academic and clinical settings. At The Eye Center, she trained in adult primary care, pediatrics, vision therapy, low vision, surgical co-management, and ocular disease. She completed an externship at the James H. Quillen VA, where she gained further experience in ocular disease, low vision, and adult primary care. Dr. Songy also trained with EyeCare Associates during her externship, developing her skills in specialty contact lens fittings and complex case management—experience that now supports her work as a full-time provider at the practice.

Beyond her clinical care, Dr. Songy has been actively involved in professional development and mentorship, participating in the Connect Mentorship Program and leadership roles at the Louisiana State Club at SCO. She has also contributed to her community through volunteer work at the New Orleans Women and Children’s Shelter and Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, supporting vision screenings and medical staff in patient care.
