Improved overall quality of life

Freedom from glasses or contacts

Improved personal safety
I wore glasses when I served in the military during the Gulf War. Without my glasses, I couldn’t see two feet in front of my face. Many times we had to put on our gas masks during chemical warfare. There was a clip in the gas mask for the glasses. Some times the glasses would slip off the clip. I couldn’t remove the mask to adjust the glasses. I just couldn’t see… I’ll never forget that feeling.

It’s such a miracle to be able to see so clearly. I wouldn’t go to sleep the night of the surgery. I was so excited that I could see. It was so amazing to be able to see every blade of grass in my backyard so crisp and clear!

Increased confidence in personal appearance
As I stood in front of the mirror, trying on my wedding dress, I realized how self-conscious I was about the way I looked with my glasses. I decided right there and then that I did not want to wear glasses on my wedding day. I had two choices: be blindly guided by my father or have LASIK surgery. It was so thrilling to be able to walk down the aisle and see everything so clearly.
